Bear Hollow Wildlife Trail

I have been living in Athens for a while now and it just keeps amazing me. I found this place called Bear Hollow a while back and we went for a visit for the second time this month. It still amazes me how this wildlife zoo is inside the (Athens) perimeter. This time we found that it also has a duck pond and a playground! It's open everyday from 9-dusk and free! What a great place to take Max, have a nice walk and just be outside! You can literally see someone's backyard while looking at the bears. How'd you like to have them in your backyard! I still like looking at the Bald Eagle is scares me because there is nothing between us and he sounds like a something from Jurassic Park but it's hard to look away he is so Majestic! My photo doesn't do it justice.

We saw two of the tinyest owls I've ever seen, a possum, a few chicken Hawks, bob cat's, turtles, alligators, cat fish, turkey, dear, woodchuck, Black Bears, Bald Eagle, and lot's of squirrels and chipmunks running all around. The wood chuck was curled up in a cat bed with a teddybear both times we came to visit! How cute! And the alligator tank can be seem from under water too. We got a photo of Max pointing at one of the things in the tank but you can't really see what's in there. It's 3 Alligators about 4 feet long. We really enjoyed it!
