Happy Halloween!

As you can see Max decided to be a penguin this year because he liked the Happy Feet movie so much! He wasn't too happy about the photo shoot though. I was surprised to see that some of the pictures actually look like he is smiling! He was mostly grunty the hole time that escilated in to down right miffed! All of the picutes are cute though evern the miffed ones.

Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Solar System Mural

Poor Max had nothing to look at when he was in his crib so Ben and I picked out a cute mural of the solar system and I spent my last few days of maternity leave painting it on the wall. It's painted on the slanted part of the wall over his crib. It took longer than I thought it would. I spent about 3 day's on it but took lot's of breaks. I would like to add some glow in the dark paint to make it look cool at night too. I showed it to Max and he seemed interested. I think it has plenty of tiny details to keep his eyes excited.

Be sure to scrolll down to make sure there isn't anything you might have missed. I have added quite a few things in the last week. Hopefully I will be able to keep it up once I'm back to work.

Handsome Boy!

I just thought this was a cute outfit so I was taking photo's of him all day in it. He is growing so fast, making all kinds of coo's and gaga's. I keep trying to get him on video and maybe I can figure out how to get the video on the blog.

I go back to work next week on Wednesday and I have mixed feelings about it. I'm glad it's just 1/2 days for 2 weeks to help me work my way up to a full day. I've started to practice the sleep schedule I'll have once back to work and it's HARD! Ben and I are both pritty tired but hopefully we will get use to it soon.

Jeremy's Home!!! YEA!!!!!

Jeremy has been back in the States now for a month or so and he came to visit Oct 14th to meet Max for the first time. He had some news.... He got married!!!! His wife Savannah was with him when he came to visit but they didn't tell us they had gotten married until they were on their way out. I guess I was so shocked I didn't think to get a photo of them together. I'll have to see if I can get one from my dad and post it - she is a lovely girl and almost as tall as Jeremy. It was so nice to see Jeremy again I knew I missed him but didn't reolize how much! I'm so glad he is back safe and sound and I never want him to go back to Iraq again! Savannah and him are driving back to CA and he will ship out again in February but hopefully to Japan and not Iraq or Iran or anywhere scarry! Thanks to everyone who sent him care packages and prayers!

More Hilton Head photo's
What a lovely family we have!!!

Well I've been home for 3 months almost and still have not sent out birth announcements. I'm trying to do them myself. I came up the above 2 designs and can't decide which I like best. I thought I would see what my family and friends think.

Send me an e-mail or leave me a comment and let me know which you like, Black & White or Color.

Max had his 2 month Dr.'s appointment yesterday the one where they give him all the shots with the needle as long as his arm. Ben helped the nurse hold him down (bless his heart!) and I got ready to breast feed to make him feel better after. Max started to scream and Ben and I thought is wasn't too bad then he really started to scream! It was horrible!!! He got 2 shots in one thigh and one shot in the other thigh. Once it was done Ben handed Max to me and I started to try and breast feed. He cried for a little bit then fell asleep. This is the part where I almost stated to cry - the little guy just wore himself out. We attempted to put him back in the car seat and he wailed again and again. We paid quickly and out to the car but he continued to wail so I took him out of the car and walked around the parking lot with him until he was asleep then back to the car and he was fine. He slept most of the day and when he woke up or when we tried to move him he would cry. He got a little bit of a tempreture last night so we gave him the correct dosage of baby tylenol and it helped. We had him sleep in the co-sleeper in our bed last night so we could keep a close eye on him. It's hard to sleep when your not sure if your baby might or might not get better or worse. Max seems fine now. He was up with Ben this morning for almost an hour just looking around and cooing, laughing etc.

Love you all - don't forget to vote!

Johnson Beach Trip 2007

We are home from our beach trip in Hilton Head, SC. Max got to meet his great grandmother and great grandfather Jackie & Joseph McCluskey. They enjoyed holding him and talking with him and Ben and I couldn't have asked for better baby sitters while we swam or napped or ate.

Max had many milestones this week, it seemed like he grew up a lot in this one week. He laughed and coo'ed more than ever! He also rolled over from his tummy to his back, using his feet to push off and again from his back to his side not quite making it to his tummy. He also slept for 6 hours on the last night! Amazing! I actually woke up at his usual feeding time and he was still snoozing. I kinda didn't know what to do for a second - then I was like whoo hoo! more sleep!
We brought the pack-n-play and that was nice because it has a changing table built in. We didn't bring the swing though so we traded off swinging him in our arms.

It was a very low key vacation and fun to hang out with family. Maxwell's cousin, Finnley is 2 years old and it was so much fun to watch him play, interact with us and Max, swim, and be potty trained. He is at that age where everything he says is so darn cute! I was changing Max's diaper and Finn was watching and when I threw the diaper in the trash Finn said " I don't want to bite that" so cute!!! And then later we saw a bug and he said he wanted to bite the bug but he said it like a joke.

Each beach trip we have one theam party night. This year we celebrated Halloween since Finnley and Max both have their costumes already. Becky (Max's Aunt) brought some fake pumpkins that are carvable! They are really neat in both senses of the word - no seeds and pumpkin slime to deal with and easy to carve - she got them a joanne's - we might have to get more!

Sorry I don't have more photos it's hard to hold a baby, pacifier, blanket, diet dr pepper, book and a camera LOL!

Team Avado

We took Max to visit Avado Friday. It was fun to see everyone and show off our little man! Here is, from left to right, Donna, Jenny, Vicki, Sholane, Me, Lilly & Mignonne. Max looked very cute in his surfer dude tie die and cargo shorts. He slept the entire time (good boy) and let anyone hold him. Ben and I walked him around the entire building and he helped Donna out in the mail room for a little while. It was so nice to see everyone again I actually miss my cubicle and of course all my friends. Not too long from now I will be back to work! See you chicks on Oct. 31!!!! PS. Max says Hi Sholane!

From Jumpingmonkeys.com a parenting site, Hilarious!!!
