Our Neighbors house caught on fire last night. I went to check on Max around 11:30 PM and heard a hum. I looked out the front window and saw that a hose was hooked up to the fire extinguisher across the street. I followed the hose as it went past the our house down the street and that is when I saw fire trucks etc. Ben went to check it out and said he could see embers falling from the ceiling thru the front door and it seemed pretty bad. I can't believe how quite everyone was - even the dogs kept sleeping. This photo is from our driveway the main roof is gone and the yard is covered in ash. It looks like the siding melted and some part of the home is in the yard. I know they had small children so I'm hoping everyone is okay. Ben and I are getting a fire ladder today! Everyone check your fire alarms and extinguishers an have a plan this stuff can happen so fast!

Max got all dressed up for a day at the mall with Gram and I. He had on his sun glasses and shoes and i just had to take a photo! He was such a good boy never "showed out" as Gram would say - not even once! he was a perfect little angle!

I had a great Birthday Wednesday! Max went to G&G Olsen's farm and Ben pampered me all day. Then we all met for dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant. I brought Max's baby food and Grama fed him while we ate chips and salsa. Max flirted with the waitress too it was really cute. I can't believe he is eating baby food every night. He will be 6 months in like 2 weeks! Can you believe it?

Our living room has become more of play room for Max now that I am home full time. We got some foam floring at Sams that makes it easier on both of us and it's warmer. Max evern took a nap on the floor yesterday while the dogs were outside. He always enjoys being on the bed or sofa with us so having us all on the floor together is very fun for him and much easer on my back and arms.

Someone gave us these cute little socks for Max at one of his baby showers. We have put them on him before but he barely noticed them. He has been so into his feet lately that I dug them out again. Max had a blast kicking and catching his feet. He's got some good exercise and lot's and lot's of laffs!

Max just turned 5 months today! We are having lot's of fun watching our little man grow. He is eating baby food every night around 6pm along with a nice bottle of mommy milk. He loves it and falls asleep right after. He usually wakes to nurse around 8 pm again, then back to sleep. He seems to really enjoy the green beans, squash, and carrots. However he is still not sleeping thru the night. For some reason he is waking up 3 times a night now instead of the usual 2. Now that he eats he wakes up between 11 - 12 hungry then between 2 and 3 then finally between 5 and 6. I can't imagine how I would get thru the day if I was working the nights have been really hard. If anyone has any advise I'm up for it. I'll try anything, let him cry, pasifier, mobile, swaddle are all the things that I've tried and sometimes they work. What works the best is nurse and stay in bed with us but I don't sleep very good that way so Max and I will need to come up with a compramise.

Our living room has become a play pen now that I'm home. We got those foam floor squares and spend lot's of time on the floor playing and doing the dreaded tummy time. He rolled over today all by himself because he got so mad about tummy time. As soon as he "landed" on his back he looked shocked and a little scared. I reasured him how cool what he just did was and he was all smiles! He loves to stand, it so cute! I don't know if he will get the nack of crawling before he get's standing.

Ben took a bunch of great photos yesterday. Many of them looked good to me as a group so I tried to load them together in a little series. Max does smile I promise, I think he is just gets mesmerized by they red eye reduction light and the camera. He has a little bit of a deer in headlights look is some of these. Enjoy!

Bye Bye Avado

I am being laid off from my job in Madison. My last day will be Jan. 8th. Although I will miss many of my friends I think this change will be good for me and my family. I am looking for a job in Athens or one I can do from my home so I can spend more time with Ben and Max. If anyone has any leads feel free to give out my e-mail or cell number.
